 The Ekaaty project is a free, secure and user friendly operating system based on Linux. Ekaaty Project is aimed for use at desktops, providing a lightweight version of the system, with less cost of disc space and less use of the machine resources. It is released under GPL, or General Public License, that intends it is under the category of Open Source Software (OSS), better known as FreeSoftware. In this way, the final users can be free to modify and redistribute the software with its source code and a license copy, giving to an international community of developers the opportunity to improve and inovate the operative system. Ekaaty can be atractive to students, small companies and Linux enthusiasts. It comes with KDE, the most complete and stable plataform for Unix desktops, and the BrOffice.Org Project, which is one of the most complete multiplatform office suites that is compatible with Microsoft Office and OpenDocument Document formats.
